An exhibition design for 'LONG LIFE DESIGN AWARD 2018' held at 'Good Design Marunouchi' in the centre of Tokyo.

Regarding the design, the designer Kei Harada, a founder of Tokyo based design firm DO.DO., required to create a flexible and reusable system for the exhibition because the client hoped to use it for another setting. So, Harada developed knockdown display system with transparent acrylic pipes and custom-made joint parts made of wood veneer to create neutral touch for the exhibition having an unbiased concept. For the reusable purpose, all parts were assembled with braces and joint parts without adhesives.

As a result of adopting colourless acrylic parts and black painted joints, the shelf system looks like a transparent architecture with a light structure. Harada described that the unexpected layer of the beautiful city view and the transparent structure made the exhibition booth more attractive than that of he imagined.

This exhibition design was named winner of iF Design Awards 2020.
