Decorative trees and podiums used during Christmas or Hinamatsuri— a japanese traditional Doll’ s Festival— only see the light of day once a year and spend more time stored away than on display.
In my research, I discovered that some people do not even get seasonal decorations because they for the most part just take up storage space.
In this project, I produced a piece of furniture that acts as a trivial but functional item for most of the year and converts into a festive interior element when it needs to.
