Kyoto-based interior design studio Everedge launched a new hospitality brand “ACOA”
A new hospitality brand, ACOA (instagram: @a.change.of.air), was launched to connect Japanese and international design culture. The brand was the brainchild of a encounter between Kyoto-based interior design studio Everedge, led by Takuma Inoue, and Eugene Kan, former editorial director of HYPERBEAST. Since then, Eugene's Hong Kong-based creative agency ADAM Studio and everedge have been working together to explore new forms of hospitality that celebrates life’s happenstances, and their ability to bring people together and transform them. The brand name ACOA is an acronym for the duo's desire to provide an opportunity to ‘A Change Of Air’ and switch off in today's information-overloaded society.
ACOA House Nijo, a renovated machiya-style cottage in Nijo, Kyoto, is scheduled to open in February 2025, while ACOA Villa Takashima is opening in Takashima, Shiga, in December 2024.Beyond properties, Acoa has a vision to bring their hospitality offering to new avenues including partnerships and event spaces.
