Initially, reviewing my daily life, I was wondering about the connection between the space and myself.

Personally speaking, as a person who lives in cities for my whole life, I cannot tell if I prefer or dislike the lives in cities. I just use to this way of living. Because living in busy cities, I seldom look into things that happen around me and think about the meaning of them.

In this light, I start to observe and take pictures of my daily life, thinking of the shapes, colors, rhythm of this real world. I found out that three things (space, time and people) run just like an asteroid belt. They seem to connect together, but they also individually exist. Planet Formula is an asteroid belt, which combining with individual geometric elements, but connecting together. Our life, home, and a city which sometimes work parallel or cross-linked are following the same formula.

The works mainly focus on the arrangement of geometric elements and colors, and the function of them designed by considering the needs of using places.

Three works in the series set in entrance, living room and bedroom.

About Entrance

Taking round as the main shape, it just likes sun and moon, waiting for families home. A clock right up there and it only shows the numbers from 6 to 9 o-clock since this period of time is when we go out and come back home, and also which we usually need to check at the entrance. The platform in front can put needed things, such as keys, cards, etc.

About Living Room

The standing storage furniture can be seen as artwork. If only watching, it’s hard to find a place to open it because those drawers' borders are assembled with 45-degree angles. A little crack under the drawer can let people open it. Except for the drawer made with wood, there is an added quarter round acrylic storage box upon it. Looking from every angle, people can see different geometric combinations. With thin metal rods to support it, the furniture becomes more floatable visually.

About Bedroom

The bedside table, basically made up of acrylic, can put books and magazines, etc. There is a wood storage box, which all borders all assembled with 45-degree angles, suit for a pair of glasses to put into. Upon it, there is a moveable round platform that can put little things, such as eye drops, rings, etc.

The whole project started from abstract geometry, then added daily function design into it. Those works make people blend into life, but also temporary draw out from the real world. The series from the entrance to the bedroom connects the indoor line and space.
