I once climbed Mt. Omuro in Ito City, Shizuoka Prefecture by lift.
The trees and plants swayed by the wind seemed to be dancing and looked at them carelessly.
However, there is a culture called "mountain burning" in which the entire mountain is burned once a year, although it is a paradise for only plants.
"I decided to create a piece of work that cuts out the "flying" characteristic of plants that are burned and gone by the "flying" inspired by the plants of Mt. Omuro."
"I thought about how to express the "likeness" of plants in space by imposing the restriction of inorganic matter on myself."
Plantiness consists in "swinginging" by the wind.Even if the object that swings is inorganic, the object that looks at it organically creates an image and captures it.Also, the environmental sound itself generated by the swaying can produce a plant image.Plants that are swayed give you an organic sense of rhythm and comfort, and bring the viewer to a state of mindlessness.
"Mushin" is a concept originally from Buddhism.Live as you are without having desires or delusions.Mindlessness washes away the mind and lowers the standard of happiness. You can feel at ease with the trivial things that exist there.
"The only definite object that exists in space is "Mikata"."I hope that the audience will be able to reach a state of mindlessness, as everything but "Ma" has been erased.
