This accommodation facility, integrated with the magnificent nature of Cape Muroto, is composed of three buildings symbolizing the elements of ASTRA (sky), AQUA (sea), and ATRAS (land). The design is based on fluid curves that represent the energy of nature, with roofs and floors reflecting the movement of wind and waves, creating a space in harmony with the environment.
ASTRA is inspired by the vastness of the sky and the flow of wind. Its smooth, curvilinear roof and walls open to the sky, with high ceilings and large glass windows offering expansive views of the heavens. This open design creates a floating sensation in the atmosphere, where visitors can experience changing light throughout the day. The rooftop terrace includes an observation deck for stargazing, providing an immersive experience with the night sky.
AQUA emphasizes the fusion of water and the sea. An infinity pool is strategically placed between the building and the ocean, blurring the boundaries between water and land. The surface of the floor, made of a reflective material, mirrors the water's surface, enhancing the feeling of seamless connection between the ocean and the interior. Guests can relax and lose track of time, enveloped in an immersive experience as if merging with the water.
ATRAS is based on the warmth and strength of the earth, emphasizing harmony with nature. The buildingÅfs curved roof and walls provide a sense of stability, while incorporating the flow of wind and terrain. Natural materials such as wood and stone are used in the interior to create a warm, earthy atmosphere that evokes the breath of the earth.
While each of the three buildings represents different natural elements, their shared curvilinear design and harmonious materials create a cohesive unity. The design prioritizes sight lines and openness, allowing guests to feel as though they are surrounded by nature even when inside the building. Each structure offers distinct experiences, allowing visitors to connect with nature through all five senses. This project is not just an accommodation facility but an immersive space where guests can experience the energy of the sky, sea, and earth, offering a retreat for both body and mind.
